Town Issues Request for Qualifications for Atoka Greenway Trail - Phase I
Posted on Thursday February 12, 2015
The Town of Atoka has taken the first step in moving the Atoka Greenway Trail project forward by today issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for an engineering firm to design and oversee the project. The Atoka Greenway, to eventually connect Walker and Pioneer Parks, hopes to be under construction on Phase I in 2016.
The Town of Atoka today released an RFQ to select a design firm for the Atoka Greenway Trail project.  The greenway, running from Pioneer Park to Walker Park and connecting the existing walking paths at each park, will provide a pedestrian and bicycle friendly way to travel between two parks in the residential core of Atoka.

Funded in part by a Transportation Alternatives grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, Phase I of the project is expected to run west from the fire station on Walker Parkway to the splash pad at Walker Park.  A future Phase II will continue the trail east from the fire station to connect to the walking trail at Pioneer Park.  For more information on the Atoka Greenway Trail project, click here.

The Town expect to select an engineering firm on the project early this summer.  RFQ responses are due on Friday, March 6, 2015 by 3 pm.  For more information on the RFQ process, click here.
