New Permit Fees and Fee Structure in Effect - July 1

As a part of the Town's fiscal year 2018 budget, the Town will be simplifying the permit fee structure and establishing a new construction value calculation method. The permit structure, mirroring the structure currently in place in Tipton County and the City of Munford, goes into effect July 1, 2017.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen, as a part of the FY2018 Town budget, adopted a simplified permit fee schedule and made the first change to construction valuation in more than a decade.  The new rates, which take effect July 1, seek to align the permit fees collected with the cost of providing inspection services. 

In 2005, the Town set the value of construction at $40 per square foot under roof for the purpose of calculating the permit fee.  That rate has remain unchanged in the twelve (12) years that followed.  The revised ordinance sets that rate at $70 per square foot and adopts a tiered fee structure that is simple to follow.  The same tiered structure is already in place in the City of Munford and Tipton County - providing familiarity and clarity to the building community in south Tipton County.  

Permit fees were also adjusted for cell phone tower construction or modification and sign permits.
